Beauty’s New Frontier
Stem cell face-lift pioneered by Dr. Vincent Giampapa gains worldwide notoriety in 2010.
A new cosmetic procedure on the frontiers of stem cell research can reverse aging and restore a youthful appearance without surgery.
Dubbed “The Stem Cell Facelift,” the procedure relies on new research pioneered by Dr. Vincent Giampapa. For the past four years, Dr. Giampapa has studied the relationship between fat cells and stem cells. His research identified sources of adult stem cells mixed with fat cells in the abdomen and inner thighs. His procedure transplants these stem cells to the face to regenerate tissue and create a more youthful look. Patients experience improvements in skin color and texture, restored volume to the face, and a decrease in lines and wrinkles.
The procedure depends on a patented combination growth factors developed by Dr. Giampapa for the Stem Cell Facelift. These growth factors induce the skin and fatty layers of the face to produce more of their own cells. New research from the University of Medicine and Dentistry has recently documented the effectiveness of this growth factor combination.
The Stem Cell Facelift presents a safe alternative to Botox and surgical intervention. Patients who previously used injectable fillers such as Botox used fillers less frequently after receiving the Stem Cell Facelift, and many patients found fillers no longer necessary.
Best of all, the patient’s results appeared to improve slowly over the two to three years following the initial procedure. Dr. Giampapa suspects this is due to ongoing release of key growth factors and other compounds produced by the new fat cells that stimulate ongoing skin improvement.
The Stem Cell Facelift and its underlying science have been highlighted internationally over the last two years in Beijing China in 2009 at the world symposium on stem cell science, in Paris in 2008 at the World Anti-Aging Academy of Medicine, in Milan in November of 2009 at the meeting on women’s international beauty and health and more recently in February of 2010 in Las Vegas, at the international symposium of updated stem cell science and research as well as this past month in March of 2010 in Boston at the stem cell science update.
Dr. Giampapa says that this technique and the science behind it are a major leap forward in cosmetic applications of stem cell use.
